Rockets to introduce Russell Westbrook on Friday
The Houston Rockets are set to introduce the latest addition to their roster, former Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Russell Westbrook, on Friday.
Per Mark Berman of Fox 26, the event will take place at the Toyota Center and will be closed to the public.

To recall, Westbrook was sent to the Rockets in exchange for Chris Paul, two first-round picks and two pick swaps. The trade occurred after the Thunder sent Paul George to the LA Clippers for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Danillo Gallinari and a record amount of picks.
The Westbrook trade was a clear sign that the Thunder were on the verge of pressing the reset button. The Rockets, meanwhile, have moved on from the Paul-Harden experiment which lasted for two years.
Now, Houston has reunited Harden and Westbrook together — who were not only teammates back in the Thunder but also close friends since they were kids.
Despite all the individual accolades and chemistry they share, fans and experts alike are not too hyped on the Harden-Westbrook combination. After all, the two former MVPs are two of the most ball-dominant players in the league. Some believe that it’ll be impossible for the two to effectively co-exist.
Such concerns may be addressed at the press conference on Friday. But since basketball is a sport and not a mere press event, they’d have to wait for the actual season to see if the Harden-Westbrook duo would work out.
