Rockets to give fans ‘Vote for Harden’ MVP t-shirt in game vs. Nuggets

James Harden, Rockets

The Houston Rockets will give fans a “Vote for Harden” t-shirt during Thursday’s game against the Denver Nuggets to aid James Harden’s renewed quest for the Most Valuable Player Award.

Harden has not been shy about gunning for the MVP trophy once again after winning it last season and falling short to the likes of Stephen Curry and Russell Westbrook in years past.

This is only the latest antic pushing Harden’s campaign for MVP after The Beard himself took a full-page ad on a Milwaukee newspaper before his matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks and his biggest rival for the award, Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Teammate P.J. Tucker also wore a shirt prior to that game, pointing to Harden as the MVP.

Besides that, head coach Mike D’Antoni has been pushing his star shooting guard as the league’s most valuable player since the Rockets first came out of a rut early in the season, making this a rather sensory overload of an MVP campaign.

Harden has achieved plenty during this season to garner the award, but the fact he’s pushing for it so darn much from all angles is actually hurting his case, as ESPN’s Brian Windhorst pointed on Wednesday’s edition of “The Jump” — thinking he’s likely fearful that Antetokounmpo is just as worthy of consideration.
