Ever since he stepped foot in the NBA, Houston Rockets swingman Kevin Porter Jr. has done nothing but prove his critics wrong. Now, he’s adding the NBA 2K22 team to his list of doubters.

Porter Jr. recently asked Ronnie 2K about his overall rating in NBA 2K22 via Twitter. KPJ laid out his expectations but all these blew in his face.

To recall, Kevin Porter Jr. plummeted in the NBA Draft only to enamor the Cleveland Cavaliers after placing their trust in the talented guard. Things went astray after a locker room incident placed Porter Jr. in the doghouse until he got traded to the Rockets.

Fully aware of the former USC standout’s history, the Rockets placed him in the G League, where he reminded everyone why he was touted as a lottery talent prior to the 2019 draft.

Upon being called up to Houston, Porter Jr. made the most of his second chance, averaging 16.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game. He even made history by becoming the youngest player to tally at least 50 points and 10 assists in a single game.

For comparison, the Orlando Magic’s Jalen Suggs is also a 77 which is good for fourth-best among rookies. Above him are Cleveland Cavaliers big man Evan Mobley (78), Porter Jr.’s Rockets teammate in Jalen Green (79), and the Detroit Pistons’ top overall pick in Cade Cunningham (80).

The Rockets boast of a solid young core with KPJ, Green, Jae’Sean Tate, Christian Wood, and Alperen Sengun. They will be best served by continuing to shower Porter Jr. with more opportunities to succeed.
