Rockets star Russell Westbrook shares heartwarming moment with his son despite distance

Rockets, Russell Westbrook

Houston Rockets superstar point guard Russell Westbrook may be suffering from a strained quad, but that’s not going to stop the former MVP from playing with his son through video chat.

Westbrook posted a heartwarming picture on IG of him playing with his woody toy alongside his son Noah.

It has to be extremely tough for players to be away from their families for such an extended period of time. The Rockets are title contenders with James Harden and Russell Westbrook leading the way, so Houston players may be in Orlando until September if they get to the Finals.

Along with Noah, Westbrook and his wife Nina have two other kids, Jordyn and Skye. The Westbrook family is rooting for Russell and the Rockets to win the championship at Disney World. Houston is set to finish as the fourth or fifth seed in the Western Conference standings.

In 57 games for the Rockets this season, Westbrook is averaging 27.2 points, 7.9 rebounds and 7.0 assists. The 2017 league MVP has to be close to 100 percent in the playoffs for the Rockets to have any chance of winning it all.

Harden is an amazing player and takes his game to another level in the postseason, but he can only do so much when teams are trapping him at every turn and forcing the ball out of his hands. When that happens, Houston needs Westbrook to take the ball and work his magic. That’s the luxury of having two MVPs on the roster.
