Rockets star James Harden ties Tracy McGrady for second longest 30-point scoring streak since NBA merger
Houston Rockets star James Harden has been special over the last month. Well, he has always been special, but the level at which he is currently playing is a step beyond that.
On Wednesday night against the Milwaukee Bucks, Harden hit the 30-point mark once again, marking his 14th straight game with 30 or more points.
With the performance, Harden tied former fellow Rockets great Tracy McGrady for the second-longest such streak since the NBA merger:

Not only is Harden pouring in 30-point performances, but he is also regularly racking up 40-spots.
The reigning MVP put together a streak of five consecutive 40-plus-point games from Christmas Day through Jan. 3, topping out at 45 points in a win over the Boston Celtics on Dec. 29.
Throughout the month of December overall, Harden posted six 40-point outings, including a 50-point outburst in a victory over the Los Angeles Lakers back on Dec. 13.
Overall this season, Harden is averaging a league-best 33.7 points per game to go along with 8.7 assists, 5.9 rebounds and two steals over 37.2 minutes per game while shooting 43.6 percent from the floor, 38.6 percent from three-point range and 85.1 percent from the free-throw line.
Harden is aiming for his second straight scoring title, as he paced the league with 30.4 points per game a year ago.
The Rockets have been streaking along with Harden, as they entered Wednesday evening having won 12 of their last 14 games to improve to 23-16 following an ugly 11-14 start.
They have also been doing much of this without Chris Paul, who injured his hamstring in a loss to the Miami Heat on Dec. 20 and has been sidelined ever since.
