Rockets star James Harden takes 9th place on all-time 3-pointers list

James Harden

James Harden of the Houston Rockets has moved to ninth place on the all-time 3-pointers made list.

Per the NBA, Harden has made 1,989 3-pointers in his career. He achieved the feat in the first quarter of their game against the Denver Nuggets on Thursday.

Below is the record-breaking shot which surpassed Jason Kidd. Perhaps what made it sweeter is that the 3-pointer came after his signature step-back move.

For the season, Harden is averaging a career-high 4.8 3-pointers per game on 13.3 attempts. He’s shooting 36.2 percent from beyond the arc. As of this writing, he has made 341 3-pointers this season — surpassing his career-high last year of 265.

Indeed, it’s been a great year for the reigning MVP. Amid all the injuries and struggles that his team went through early on, Harden managed to keep their heads above water. Along the way, the 29-year-old broke several scoring records and reached individual milestones.

But Harden has emphasized that his team comes first before him. He had no put his superman cape on early in the season because he needed to. Now that the Rockets are complete and healthy, he no longer has to carry the scoring load night in and night out.

But in the event that he needs do, critics better believe that Harden is more than ready.
