James Harden of the Houston Rockets now holds the fifth-longest 30-point streak in NBA history.
Per SportsCenter, Harden now has 18 consecutive games with at least 30 points. Surrounding him is Wilt Chamberlain

His streak started on Dec. 13 in their 126-111 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. There, the reigning MVP dropped 50 points on the young purple and gold squad. After which, he put on a series of scoring outbursts, dropping several 40-point games and a few more 50-point efforts.
During this streak, Harden is averaging at a superhuman rate: 42.2 points per game.

In their latest game, Harden had a whopping 58 points on 16-of-34 from the field, 5-of-19 from downtown, and 21-of-23 from the free throw line. The only negative thing about his performance was that it came at a heartbreaking loss to the Brooklyn Nets, 142-145.
As expected, his performances have garnered its detractors who criticize him for his foul-fishing escapades. Though part of it is true, one still cannot erase the fact that Harden is putting on one of the greatest streaks in basketball history. He’s literally willing his team every single night, hoping to turn the season around for the struggling Rockets squad.
The Rockets are now 25-19 for fifth place in the Western Conference. They will duel against the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center on Sunday, January 19.
