Rockets star James Harden climbs to 13th on playoffs 3-pointers list

It’s not only Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson who moved up the all-time playoff 3-pointers list in Game 3 of the Golden State Warriors-Houston Rockets series on Saturday. Houston superstar James Harden joined the Dubs duo in the milestone, as he climbed to 13th on the record.
Harden passed fellow Rockets legend Robert Horry who made 261 triples in the postseason throughout his legendary career. The Beard entered the game needing just four 3-pointers to break Horry’s mark, and he finished the contest with five.

James Harden ended up with 41 points, nine rebounds and six assists to lead the Rockets to victory and put the series 2-1 after losing the first two games in Golden State.
Remarkably, Harden’s fifth 3-pointer allowed Houston to pull away for good in overtime. With less than a minute remaining, the reigning NBA MVP drained a step-back 3-pointer over Andre Iguodala to push the Rockets’ lead to six and erase any hope of a Warriors comeback.

Harden has a chance to crack into the Top 10 of the list this 2019 postseason if he keeps the Rockets alive. With 263 makes from beyond the arc, he is only 22 behind Derek Fisher (285) for no.10. Chauncey Billups (267) and Paul Pierce (276) are at no. 12 and 11 respectively.
