Rockets star Chris Paul says James Harden’s run is ‘crazy’

Chris Paul, James Harden

Houston Rockets star Chris Paul seems to agree with most people when it comes to the craziness of what James Harden is doing right now.

Harden secured his fourth straight 40-point game in Monday night’s 113-101 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies, with the reigning NBA MVP posting a triple-double with 43 points, 13 assists, and 10 rebounds.

With at least 41 points in every game since the Christmas Day matchup with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Harden has everyone in awe of how dominant of a scoring run it has been, including Paul.

Here’s what Paul had to say, courtesy of ESPN’s Tim MacMahon:

“It’s crazy, man,” injured Rockets guard Chris Paul said at halftime. “It’s crazy to watch the games and to witness it. … What he’s doing is unreal.”

We’ve seen throughout the years that there aren’t many ways to stop Harden when he gets going, and that has become even more clear during this incredible stretch of performances.

Even when he’s not hitting shots from the field, he finds ways to add points at the free-throw line, which he did in an emphatic way by going 21 of 27 from the charity stripe in the win over the Grizzlies.

Harden’s streak has completely reinvigorated the Rockets, who have now won five straight and 10 of their last 11 overall. This recent stretch has happened with Paul out of the lineup due to a hamstring injury.

So, as if a Western Conference Finals rematch wasn’t enough to draw you into Thursday night’s game between the Rockets and Golden State Warriors, now there’s the added bonus of possibly watching Harden extend his tremendous scoring streak even further.
