Houston Rockets star point guard Chris Paul has been fined $35,000 for making contact with an official.

The incident took place at the end of Game 1 on Sunday against the Golden State Warriors.

Paul was ejected after picking up his second technical foul. The Rockets’ floor general said the contact was “incidental” when he spoke with reporters postgame.

The Rockets are just glad Paul won’t be suspended:

Game 1 was an ugly game from start to finish. Both the Rockets and Warriors were complaining to the refs all game long.

Houston head coach Mike D’Antoni and Warriors power forward Draymond Green each picked up a technical foul. Paul was ejected when the game was already decided.

The Rockets lost Game 1 by a final score of 104-100. Game 2 is on Tuesday. Houston will be motivated to win that one since they felt the refs cheated them in Game 1.

Paul scored 17 points in Game 1 in 36 minutes. He grabbed three rebounds and dished out four assists as well. Houston is going to need Paul to be more aggressive in Game 2. CP3 only took nine shots in Game 1.

Paul averaged 15.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 8.2 assists during the regular season for the Rockets. He shot 41.9 percent overall and 35.8 percent from the 3-point line.
