By shooting 12-of-20 from beyond the arc, the team has tied the record for second most points scored in the first two quarters, joining the 1990 Denver Nuggets, who also had the same number of points in 24 minutes, according to basketball-reference.com.
James Harden led the way for the hot-shooting Rockets with 33 points, on 5-of-5 shooting from 3-point distance, to go along with four assists. Ryan Anderson chipped in 18 points, including five made shots from beyond the arc, while Eric Gordon and the returning Chris Paul added 10 and eight points, respectively.
The Suns had 65 points of their own and even shot 56.5 percent from the field, but are still trailing by 25 points at halftime. Their score is fairly high in its own right, but they are currently facing the top 3-point shooting team in the league today, and have found their groove early in the game.
