Rockets’ Russell Westbrook reveals ‘next question’ has been dropped from his repertoire

Rockets, Russell Westbrook

Houston Rockets superstar point guard Russell Westbrook says “next question” has been dropped from his repertoire.

Westbrook used to say “next question” when Oklahoma City Thunder beat writer Berry Tramel would ask him a question.

For now, there isn’t a Rockets reporter who has gotten on the bad side of Russell Westbrook. Memo to Houston reporters: don’t piss off Westbrook.

You don’t average a triple-double three years in a row without being a special talent. Westbrook put up 22.9 points, 11.1 rebounds and 10.7 assists in 2018-19 while shooting 42.8 percent from the field, 29.0 percent from beyond the arc and 65.6 percent from the free-throw line.

The Rockets expect Westbrook to shoot the ball better with them since he’ll have more space to shoot playing alongside James Harden, Eric Gordon and Austin Rivers.

Westbrook had surgery on his left hand to repair a torn ligament in a finger after the Thunder’s season ended. The injury clearly affected Westbrook’s shot all of last season. The Rockets are really looking forward to seeing Westbrook and Harden play together and lead Houston on a championship run.

2019-20 is all about dynamic duos in the NBA. The Rockets have Westbrook and Harden, the Los Angeles Lakers have LeBron James and Anthony Davis, while the Los Angeles Clippers have Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.

The Rockets are the only team in the league with two MVPs leading the charge.
