Rockets’ Russell Westbrook questionable vs. Lakers

Rockets, Russell Westbrook, Lakers

Houston Rockets superstar point guard Russell Westbrook is questionable to face the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday.

The Rockets revealed that Westbrook has a bruised right quad.

Houston lost their first game of the bubble on Tuesday against the Portland Trail Blazers. Westbrook played 35 minutes and finished with 15 points, three rebounds and nine assists.

The former MVP, however, only shot 5-of-14 from the field, was o-of-2 from beyond the arc and 5-of-12 from the free-throw line.

To win the championship at Disney World, the Rockets are going to need James Harden and Westbrook to be as healthy as possible once the playoffs start. With that said, since Houston has already clinched a spot in the 2020 playoffs, it wouldn’t be the worst idea to rest Westbrook against the Lakers if the explosive guard doesn’t feel right.

Overall in his first season with the Rockets, Westbrook is averaging 27.4 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.1 assists. The nine-time All-Star and future Hall of Famer is also shooting 47.2 percent from the floor and 76.2 percent from the foul line.

Moving forward, Russell Westbrook needs to get his 3-point shooting percentage up so teams can’t leave him open in the playoffs. The 31-year-old is shooting just 25.4 percent from deep with Houston.
