Rockets’ Russell Westbrook on the city of Houston: ‘It’s hot as hell’

Russell Westbrook, Rockets

At his introductory press conference with the Houston Rockets on Friday, former MVP Russell Westbrook was asked about his thoughts on the city of Houston.

Westbrook quickly responded by saying it’s “hot as hell.” The reporters who were in attendance couldn’t help but laugh:

As of this writing, the temperature in Houston, Texas is 91 degrees. So Russell Westbrook is right when he says it’s hot in Houston at the moment.

Rockets general manager Daryl Morey made sure to tell Westbrook that it’s much cooler during the season Morey said it’s usually in the high 70s, low 80s. Westbrook will surely appreciate the temperature drop.

With Westbrook in the fold next to James Harden, the Rockets are title contenders. The last time two MVPs joined forces was back in 2016 when Kevin Durant signed with the Golden State Warriors to play with Stephen Curry. The Warriors won two straight titles with KD and Curry at the helm. Rockets fans are hoping Houston can have the same success the Warriors did.

Westbrook has averaged a triple-double three seasons in a row, while Harden has led the NBA in scoring the past two seasons. Both superstars will have to adjust their games for this partnership to work, but the Rockets are definitely going to be one of the most explosive offenses in the league next season.
