Houston Rockets rookie Josh Christopher made a good account of himself in his Summer League debut. But he still has a ton of learning ahead, both on and off the court.

That said, the Rockets’ newbie had just received a harsh lesson on how the internet never forgets.

A 2016 tweet from Christopher is making the rounds yet again on the Twitterverse, where he had a short and not-so-sweet message to the Golden State Warriors.

After a quick look into the Rockets’ games from 2016, Christopher may very well be referring to Houston’s 132-127 win over the Warriors. In the said game, James Harden and Ryan Anderson each scored 29 points to thwart Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry’s 39 and 28-point games, respectively.

It’s hard to assume that Christopher was a Rockets fan at the time, but it’s a safer bet to say he despised the Warriors just like most non-Golden State fans in 2016. To recall, the Warriors got plenty of heat due to adding Durant in free agency after a 73-win season in 2015-16.

Fast forward to 2021, Josh Christopher finds himself in a rebuilding Rockets squad who are on the heels of losing Harden early in 2020-21. Alongside, Kevin Porter Jr., Jalen Green, Christian Wood, Alperen Sengun, and Jae’Sean Tate, Houston appears to have themselves a promising core.

John Wall’s status as a member of the Rockets still hangs in the balance. His timeline no longer aligns with the franchise’s direction, but the money he’s owed makes it more difficult to move the former All-Star.

Piece of advice to the rookie: Think long and hard before clicking.
