The Golden State Warriors lost Game 5 of their series against the LA Clippers after looking past them and into the upcoming series, where a rematch with the Houston Rockets is awaiting them. The Rockets have chosen to fly to the Bay Area, expecting to be ready for Game 1 of their second-round series, according to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.
The Rockets will watch Game 6 between the Warriors and Clippers, but if the eighth-seeded Clips wind up winning the series, the team would have to fly back to Houston with no fruits for their flight:
Wishing to get ready for a possible Sunday Game 1, Rockets will head to Bay Area tomorrow, watch Warriors-Clippers Game 6 from there. If Clippers win the series, would have to fly home, but were willing to get to SF early just in case there is a 12:30 (local) start on Sunday.

The hope is that, according to conventional wisdom, the top-seeded Warriors will win the series, either in six or seven games, giving the Rockets plenty of time to acclimate themselves and be fresh by the time the series starts.
The Rockets, seeded fourth this year, will not have home-court advantage, but will enjoy the extra rest advantage. They will have three full days of rest if the Warriors win on Friday, or five at most if it goes to a Game 7, regardless of the outcome.
Houston is preparing for a potential 12:30 p.m. Sunday start if the Warriors take Game 6 on the road, as they’re expected. However, this is the benefit of actually winning a series before making plans.
If it all goes according to plan, the Rockets should be well-rested and ready to go for Sunday, or Tuesday, if it comes to that.
