The Houston Rockets are 33-24 on the season, good for fifth place in the Western Conference. After finishing with the best record in the NBA last season, things have been up and down for the Rockets this season and owner Tilman Fertitta wants his club to finish out the year strong.

Houston got off to a rocky start this season. The Carmelo Anthony experiment only lasted 10 games, point guard Chris Paul and center Clint Capela both dealt with injuries, and the offense just wasn’t as explosive as it was last season.

Star shooting guard James Harden then took matters into his own hands and went on a scoring streak only the legendary Wilt Chamberlain has accomplished before. Harden currently leads the NBA in scoring at 36.6 points per game has scored at least 30 points in 31 consecutive games.

With Capela expected to be healthy for the second half of the season, Fertitta says the Rockets have 25 games to get it together.

“I don’t think anybody is happy where we are today, but we are where we are,” Fertitta said, via Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle. “We have 25 games to get it together.

“I think we all had a magic carpet ride last year. We all want to get back on the magic carpet. We have to come out every night ready to play. We’ve just got to play hard. We’re all excited Clint is coming back. I think the next 25 games will tell us a lot. We want to win 50 games this year. We have to go 17-8. We’d love to chase down and get that three spot.”

The Rockets open up the second half of the season on Thursday against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.
