Rockets news: Mike D’Antoni upset about Chris Paul’s suspension compared to Lakers’ Rajon Rondo, Brandon Ingram’s

Rockets, Mike D'Antoni, Chris Paul, Rajon Rondo

The NBA announced Sunday the suspensions for Chris Paul, Rajon Rondo and Brandon Ingram, and Houston Rockets head coach Mike D’Antoni was not happy about them.

Rajon Rondo was suspended three games for instigating a physical altercation with and spitting and throwing multiple punches at Chris Paul. Brandon Ingram was suspended four games for instigating the entire fight after he shoved Rockets guard James Harden. Ingram also threw a blind side punch at Paul.

Chris Paul was suspended two games for poking at and making contact with the face of Rajon Rondo and throwing multiple punches at him. However, Mike D’Antoni doesn’t under why Rondo and Ingram didn’t get more games, via ClutchPoints’ Tomer Azarly:

“I don’t agree,” D’Antoni said of the suspensions. “If you watch the spit, I mean I understand Chris gets one, but like what is he supposed to do? Get spit on and then take a hit to the face and says that’s ok? It doesn’t make any sense.”

It was an ugly scene at Staples Center Saturday night. That type of incident can’t happen, especially when you take into account that there are little kids at the game looking up to these players as role models.

While Rondo and Ingram serve their suspensions, the Lakers will start Lonzo Ball at point guard and Kyle Kuzma and small forward. The Rockets will start either Michael Carter-Williams or Carmelo Anthony with Paul out.
