Rockets news: Kevin Durant, LeBron James react to James Harden’s historical performance

Kevin Durant, LeBron James, James Harden

The performance James Harden put on Tuesday night left many around the NBA completely stunned.

Harden, the star player for the Houston Rockets, put up 60 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds in a 114-107 win over the Orlando Magic. It was the first time any player in NBA history tallied a triple-double with 60 points.

Harden has made a name for himself in the past two seasons with this kind of play, but we’ve never really seen anything like this — at least not since Russell Westrbook had his 50-point triple-double last season. But the crazy stats are not lost on some of the star players around the league.

Both Kevin Durant and LeBron James chimed in with their thoughts on Harden’s feat, albeit with few words.

Those two reactions are plenty indicative of how the entire NBA world reacted to Harden’s stat line. A triple-double is always impressive, no matter what some people say. But to get one and also get 60 points is ridiculous. There is just no other word for it.

Sometimes when players have those kinds of performances, it’s so send some kind of message. But against the lowly Magic, it’s more probable that the Rockets just needed that kind of performance from him just to win the game. They only won by seven points, after all, and were without Chris Paul and Trevor Ariza.

But if the Golden State Warriors were watching closely, they should be worried. If that’s the way Harden is going to play in the playoffs, the Warriors will need to game plan for that.
