Rockets news: James Harden donated $100K for scholarships for students in need
Texas Southern University, a historically black university located in Houston, is lucky to have James Harden as a supportive advocate for their educational goals. The selfless NBA-regular season MVP runner-up decided recently to give a generous gift to the university. A statement from the school’s president shows just how happy the school is for his contribution.

It simply is amazing to see people like James Harden make active choices that help inspire a generation of young people wanting to attend college but are unsure how they will fund it. College tuition is rising to astronomical heights, and having leaders like Harden alleviate some of these prices for many students at Texas Southern is a great sign for the city of Houston.
Hopefully this act of kindness will be seen more throughout the NBA. We all know Harden recently inked himself a deal that allows him to be this generous with his money, but it would still be nice to see this as a growing trend in the United States of America. Education is a vital part of our developing society, especially during the hard and confusing times of today.
