Rockets news: Eric Gordon blows by Jordan Bell for the slam dunk

Eric Gordon

The Houston Rockets’ Eric Gordon may be primarily known as a shooter, but in the season opener against the Golden State Warriors, he reminded everyone that he also has the ability to get to the rim and finish with authority in his offensive arsenal.

The Rockets guard quickly turned on the jets as he blew by Warriors forward Jordan Bell and delivered a spectacular two-handed slam.

Bell is being touted as a Draymond Green-esque defender, but Gordon may him look like a plain old rookie as he left Bell for dead and gave him his first career NBA posterization.

Gordon is coming off a fine season in his first year with Houston. He put up 16.2 points and shot 37 percent from 3-point range off the Rockets bench to win the Sixth Man of the Year award.

Gordon is also the reigning 3-point contest winner after being victorious on All-Star weekend. But if he keeps coming up with more fine slams like that, a call-up to the dunk contest could be coming in the future.
