Earlier this week, the Cleveland Cavaliers officially added All-Star guard Dwyane Wade to a one-year, $2.3 million deal shortly after being bought out of his final year of his deal with the Chicago Bulls.
With time to truly assess the move, Houston Rockets All-Star guard Chris Paul on Thursday morning gave his take on the situation.

There is a tight bond that Paul shares with them that extends well off the court, but on it, he still possesses an extremely strong competitive nature. This move now sets up the Cavaliers in better position to reach a fourth straight NBA Finals with another dynamic offensive scorer to the mix that has a plethora of playoff experience playing alongside LeBron James.
That said, Paul’s primary concern at this point is making the most out of his new surroundings with the Rockets alongside All-Star guard James Harden with eyes toward making a deep playoff push. The 32-year-old has yet to make it past the Western Conference Semifinals in the first 12 years of his NBA season.
The West is now stacked with more talented teams beyond the Golden State Warriors with the likes of the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs also making significant additions to their roster this past offseason. The addition of Wade to the Cavaliers does change up things a bit, but Paul’s primary focus at this point in time is to make it out of the Western Conference.
