Rockets news: 4 things that likely pissed off James Harden at the 2018 All-Star game

James Harden

The 2018 NBA All-Star game marked the first time that the league made any alterations to the All-Star game. In this new format, the top vote recipients would get the opportunity to select players to join their team to compete in Sunday night’s big game. The All-Star game is meant to be fun for both players and fans. Particularly, players are supposed to relax and enjoy their break away from the grind of the NBA schedule.

However, Reddit user Weave77 did some thinking, and came to the conclusion that Rockets star James Harden had a couple of reasons to be upset, but one was the ultimate tipping point in the league’s marquee game.

He shot a lackluster 5 for 19 from the field… but I didn’t think that was it.

He only made 2 of 13 three-point attempts… but I didn’t think that was it either.

And I definitely knew it wasn’t the fact that he had a team worst -21 +/-.

No, I think Harden was pissed off because, even though the refs actually called some fouls last night, he didn’t attempt a single free throw. Must have been jarring for him.

And there you have it!

For those who missed the humor, that’s what this was. Harden probably had a good time at the All-Star Game despite not being able to come away with the victory. Harden finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, eight assists and one steal in 27 minutes of action. He was second on the team in assists and third in rebounding, but head coach Mike D’Antoni, who will be coaching him the rest of the season with the Rockets, probably didn’t want his star to do too much in the exhibition game.

Harden and the Rockets will resume their regular season on Friday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves, where they’ll try to capitalize on their league-leading 44-13 record.
