Rockets’ Kenneth Faried will “definitely” be back on Monday vs. Hornets

Kenneth Faried, Rockets, Hornets

Kenneth Faried will return to action for the Houston Rockets when they play the Charlotte Hornets on Monday.

Faried, who was acquired by the Rockets last month after being waived by the Brooklyn Nets, has missed the last five games for the team due to a hip injury.

The Manimal has been a welcome addition since joining the Rockets, providing energy on both ends of the floor. He has been averaging 14.9 points, 9.4 rebounds, and a block for Houston. His return will definitely give the team a rebounding advantage in some of its remaining games, and he could also help boost Houston’s bench scoring.

The Rockets are slowly but surely heading into the playoffs at full strength. Chris Paul, Clint Capela, James Harden, and Nene have all been 100-percent cleared from various injuries that sidelined them for a significant number of games over the course of the last two months. When healthy, Houston is one of the best two-way teams in the league; it can hurt opposing teams on both ends of the floor.

Faried’s arrival in Houston helped the Rockets’ defense recover after it lost Trevor Ariza and Luc Mbah a Moute to free agency last summer.

Kenneth Faried will continue to play an integral role for Houston as it attempts to make a deep run in the playoffs.
