Houston Rockets point guard John Wall made his return to the nation’s capital Monday to face the Washington Wizards for the first time since being traded. Following Monday’s loss to the Wizards, Wall revealed that he plans on doing something big for next year’s game in Washington, via Chase Hughes of NBC Sports.
John Wall says when he plays in D.C. next year he plans to buy tickets for a lot of people who were there for his early years, including stadium employees who have since been laid off.

Wall, who spent the first nine years of his career with the Wizards, was disappointed to be traded by the organization that drafted him in 2010. The veteran point guard felt like he gave everything to the city of Washington and felt blindsided by the trade that sent him to Houston.
In a recent interview, Wall shared that he felt deprived after the Wizards didn’t let him have one more chance to win with Bradley Beal. Nevertheless, Wall showed Washington on Monday that he’s still capable of playing at an All-Star level.
During his return to Washington, Wall compiled a season-high 29 points and 11 assists for the Rockets. While Wall was on the losing end, he can clearly still ball.
In addition to his desire to bring former stadium employees to the game next season, The Athletic’s Fred Katz shared that Wall also wants to invite kids from Bright Beginnings, a learning center for children who experience homelessness in Washington.

It’s clear that Wall’s divorce with the Wizards was far from perfect. But despite the trade, Wall still wants to show that he’ll never stop contributing to the Washington community and wants to make next year’s matchup with the Wizards a special one.
