Rockets’ Jeff Green ‘excited’ to play with James Harden and Russell Westbrook again

New Houston Rockets forward Jeff Green played with Russell Westbrook and James Harden on the Oklahoma City Thunder back in the day.
Now, Green is reuniting with the two MVP’s on the Rockets. The veteran swingman is excited to play with Harden and Westbrook again and help Houston win a championship come playoff time:
Forward Jeff Green (@unclejeffgreen) reunited w/ James Harden & Russell Westbrook. They played together w/ OKC: “It’s going to be special to see those 2 guys, the way they’ve grown. It’s been wonderful. As a fan of the game it’s been great to see. I’m excited to be w/ them again.”

Free agent forward Jeff Green (@Unclejeffgreen) on signing with the #Rockets, being reunited with James Harden and Russell Westbrook: “Playing for something special, that’s what it’s all about. To do it with guys, we basically came in together, is going to be special.”

The Rockets are adding San Antonio Spurs forward DeMarre Carroll and Green to bolster their defense in the wake of the Clint Capela trade. Houston now has P.J. Tucker, Robert Covington, Carroll and Green as its wing defenders in the small-ball era.
Green averaged 7.8 points and 2.7 rebounds in 30 games for the Utah Jazz this season before getting cut on the Jordan Clarkson trade date. He shot 38.5 percent from the floor, 32.7 percent from beyond the arc and 77.8 percent from the free-throw line.
Green has career NBA averages of 13.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 890 games with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Boston Celtics, Memphis Grizzlies, Los Angeles Clippers, Orlando Magic, Cleveland Cavaliers, Washington Wizards and Jazz.
The Rockets are 34-20 on the season. They are in fifth place in the rugged Western Conference standings. Picking up Green is a solid move since he’s a proven do-it-all swingman with postseason experience. He played in the 2018 Finals on the Cavs and has playoff averages of 9.8 points.
