Despite winning the MVP award last season and leading his team to Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals, Houston Rockets shooting guard James Harden thinks he’s “probably” playing better than ever right now, and it’s hard not to agree with The Beard.
During his last 11 games, James Harden is averaging a staggering 39.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 8.5 assists per game while shooting 44.1 percent from the field, 41.5 percent from beyond the arc and 87.2 percent from the free-throw line.
The Rockets, more importantly, are 10-1 in their last 11 games and look like a championship contender again after starting off the season very slow.
The irrepressible guard replied “probably” with a smile when asked if he feels he is performing better than ever.
Harden added: “I’m just being aggressive, I’m just in attack mode. They tried to shake some things up tonight and run a double team at me and whatnot. I did a poor job of just not controlling the basketball, basically giving them transition points on my turnover.”
It seems like every night, James Harden is making history. Monday against the Memphis Grizzlies, Harden recorded his 10th career 40-point triple-double, joining Oscar Robertson and Oklahoma City Thunder star Russell Westbrook as the only three players to accomplish that feat in NBA history.
Harden also became the first player to score at least 35 points and dish out at least five assists in eight-straight games.
We really need to start appreciating Harden’s greatness instead of judging his game nonstop in a negative light.
