Rockets’ James Harden teaches Heat star Dwyane Wade’s son, Zaire, his signature move

Dwayne Wade will retire at the end of the 2018-19 season as one of the best shooting guards of all time. There’s even a legitimate case to be made that the Miami Heat legend should rank ahead of Kobe Bryant in the league’s historical hierarchy, leaving him behind only the untouchable Michael Jordan in the list of the game’s best at his position. James Harden continues shouldering his way up those rankings, too, with every step-back three, herky-jerky drive, and seemingly routine 40-point outing. Could the Houston Rockets superstar surpass Wade by the time his career is finished? Absolutely.

Harden, of course, is one of the best ever at a skill Wade never quite developed: three-point shooting. Unfortunately, it’s much too late for the 37-year-old to add that trait to his game now, so Wade is doing all he can to ensure his son won’t suffer the same weakness that plagued him throughout his 16-year career. And who better to teach the high school junior how to torch defenses from beyond the arc than Harden?

That’s Zaire Wade in the yellow sweats above, taking pointers on step-back threes from Harden as his father and family friend LeBron James watch intently. To this point, the class of 2020 guard has only one Division I scholarship offer, from Nebraska. But if he’s able to add anything resembling Harden’s iconic move to his arsenal, it seems only a matter of time until other marquee schools come calling.
