James Harden’s night took an abrupt end after he left the Houston Rockets’ game against the Utah Jazz with a little over five minutes left in the fourth quarter with an apparent injury.

After the game, head coach Mike D’Antoni talked to reporters and addresses the reigning Most Valuable Player’s situation, via ESPN’s Tim MacMahon.

Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni said James Harden left due to tightness in his hamstring. D’Antoni is not certain about the severity. Harden will be re-evaluated Thursday.

Prior to the injury, James Harden was having his usual prolific night in 31 minutes of play. He was able to register 29 points, five rebounds, and seven assists but committed seven turnovers.
The Rockets had no answer for Donovan Mitchell, who had 38 points, five rebounds, and seven assists. Houston is already missing the services of Chris Paul after being suspended for his involvement in the punching incident during their match against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Carmelo Anthony had his best game for the Rockets after he notched 22 points on 9-of-17 shooting with three 3-pointers to boot.
Houston’s next game will be on Friday against the L.A. Clippers. If James Harden is forced to miss some time, Anthony and Eric Gordon would be tasked to carry the cudgels for the Western Conference powerhouse.
