Rockets’ James Harden spotted with large wrap on left hand, says it’s ‘nothing’

James Harden, Rockets

Houston Rockets All-Star and reigning MVP James Harden was seen with a large wrap on his left hand on Friday, but he insists that it will have no effect on his game:

Since Harden is a lefty, it is always concerning to see any sort of wrap on the guard’s shooting hand. Thankfully, he seems sure it won’t affect his performance against either the Golden State Warriors or Los Angeles Clippers.

The Beard had a rough shooting performance against the Utah Jazz, even though the Rockets won the series while only dropping one game. He shot a total of 43-of-115 from the field, good for 37.4 percent. This is significantly below his season average of 44.2 percent. He started Game 4 0-of-15 from the field but came back to make a clutch 3-pointer in the final minute.

Although Harden hasn’t been in his normal groove, the Rockets have proven they can win with their best player on his “B” game. The surrounding cast and the defense have stepped up significantly, allowing Harden some room for error.

The Jazz only broke 100 points twice in five games, showing that when Houston locks in defensively, they can hang with the best of teams. Utah players who shot the ball well in the regular season lost their touch, specifically Joe Ingles, who shot only 9-of-29 from deep.

Rockets fans will have to hope James Harden is telling the truth and the wrap has nothing to do with his lower shooting percentages. They certainly will have their hands full next series if the Warriors defeat the Clippers, and NBA fans will get a chance to see a rematch of last year’s Western Conference Finals.
