Houston Rockets superstar shooting guard James Harden says Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Derrick Rose is “different” in the sense that Rose’s work ethic and love of the game sets him apart from other players.
Since becoming the youngest MVP in NBA history back in 2011 with his hometown Chicago Bulls, Rose has suffered four knee injuries, all which have required surgery. However, the former MVP has bounced back time and time again, something Harden says is incredible since he knows a lot of players would have just given up and retired.

Rose is having his best statistical season this year with the Timberwolves since the 2011-12 campaign. The 30-year-old Chicago native is averaging 18.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game while shooting 47.7 percent from the field, 40.2 percent from beyond the arc, and 85.4 percent from the free-throw line.
The highlight of Rose’s season came on Halloween, when he scored a career-high 50 points against the Utah Jazz. It was a performance which captivated the NBA world since everyone in the league knows what Rose has been through.
Harden and Rose developed a friendship in 2014 when they were on the USA Basketball World Cup Team which won Gold. Since then, Rose has been traded twice and waived once, while Harden has won an MVP award and established himself as one of the best two-guards in NBA history.
Rose, though, didn’t let the dark times define him and he’s showing this season that hard work pays off in the end.
