Rockets’ James Harden says Hawks’ Trae Young is ‘pretty fun to watch’
Despite the fact that the Atlanta Hawks are one of the worst teams in the Eastern Conference this season, it can be argued that the up-and-coming franchise isn’t too far off from at least some success. This notion is obviously thanks in part to the presence of rookie point guard Trae Young, who is currently in the midst of an impressive first year atop the highest level.
Again, the Hawks’ record may not show that Young has already burst onto the scene but players from around the NBA are certainly taking notice. Presumably speaking about Young’s ability to put defenders on skates in addition to pulling up from just about anywhere on the court, Houston Rockets guard James Harden recently heaped a ton of praise toward the Atlanta rookie.
“He started off pretty good, but this last month or two, he took it to another level,” Harden said, via Jonathan Feigen of The Houston Chronicle. “He’s been aggressive. He’s getting his teammates involved. He’s knocking down shots. He has a long way to go, but it’s pretty fun to watch.”
Of course, James Harden definitely knows a thing or two about being a fun player to watch considering the fact that the Rockets superstar won the league’s MVP award last season.
As for Trae Young, the up-and-coming playmaker is currently averaging 18.4 points per game on 40.9 percent shooting from the field. The Hawks originally obtained Young through the No. 5 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft out of Oklahoma, which was ultimately made possible via a now infamous trade with the Dallas Mavericks.
