James Harden of the Houston Rockets once again forged his way beside the scoring greats of the NBA. With his sixth 50-point game of the season, he became the fifth player to achieve the stellar feat.
Per Michael Lee of The Athletic, Harden has joined legends Wilt Chamberlain, Ricky Barry, Michael Jordan, and Kobe Bryant as the only players with six 50-point games in one season.

Harden dropped 58 points on 16-of-32 from the field, 8-of-18 from downtown, and 18-of-18 from the free throw line. More importantly, the Rockets got the win, 121-118.
This was a surprise scoring outburst from the reigning MVP. After all, the Rockets roster is finally healthy with key players Chris Paul and Clint Capela back in the lineup. One would think that Harden could finally take a backseat after carrying his team for the majority of the year.
For the season, Harden is averaging a whopping 36.2 points per game — a league best. Paul George is second with 28.6 points per game. That’s almost an eight-point differential between them. Safe to say that Harden will take home the scoring title at the end of the season.
With a ton of games remaining, is Harden setting us up for another scoring tear? We can only wait and see to find out.
