Rockets’ Jalen Green’s monster summer league debut has Houston fans hyped

Jalen Green, Rockets

Houston Rockets rookie Jalen Green was looking like the star that he is on his NBA Summer League debut on Sunday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The young Filipino-American was as good as advertised as he was absolutely on fire, leading the Rockets to a 84-76 win over a tough Cavs unit.

In his Rockets debut, Green put up 23 points on 4-of-9 shooting from deep and added five boards plus two dimes (via StatMuse). Light work for the 19-year old.

Here are some of the highlights from Green’s incredible debut:

Whether he’s knocking down three-point bombs in transition or attacking the defense, the NBA G League Ignite standout seems to be capable of doing it all out there on the court. From the get-go, you could see that Green was on a mission to lead the Rockets to a huge W as he put his head down and went to work. Green showed out and gave the young Cavs, including the third overall pick in Evan Mobley, a headache all evening long.

Plus, his step-game back seems to be on-point.

The California native was vocal about him being the best player in this year’s loaded rookie class. He’s a confident young man that appears to not just only talk the talk, but also walk it. Based on what we’ve all seen so far, the ceiling is limitless for a walking bucket like Green.

The Rockets absolutely got a steal in snagging Jalen Green at the two spot in the NBA Draft.
