In 41 games this season for the Grizzlies, JaMychal Green is averaging 9.8 points and 6.1 rebounds. The 28-year-old is shooting 48.4 percent from the field, 39.6 percent from beyond the arc and 78.8 percent from the free-throw line.
Memphis is in rebuild mode right now and is looking to acquire draft picks. Green, center Marc Gasol and point guard Mike Conley are all available.
Green is making $7,666,667 this season. He will become an unrestricted free agent in the summer. The Rockets are looking for more front court help and guys who can stretch the floor and knock down shots from the 3-point line. Green, who is 6-foot-9, fits that bill for Houston.
The Rockets are 31-22 on the season, good for fifth place in the Western Conference standings. Houston added Kenneth Faried after he was bought out by the Brooklyn Nets. Starting center Clint Capela is still recovering from thumb surgery, so trading for Green could be a nice addition for the team.
Houston is likely looking to part ways with shooting guard Brandon Knight, who is making a whopping $14,631,250 this season.
