Rockets hit ‘rock bottom’ with 20-point home loss to Magic
The Houston Rockets suffered a heavy home defeat on Sunday night, as they were humiliated by the Orlando Magic, 126-106. To make matters worse, this was their fourth straight defeat in what was a horrible week for the team.
Rockets head coach Mike D’Antoni opened up about his squad’s recent losing skid and admitted that this has to be the lowest point of their season.
Coach D’Antoni called this “rock bottom.” Said it started with lack of energy in NY, came up against a great Clippers team and now the team is questioning everything.
Says he knows the fans are frustrated, but it will get better. Team will come out on the other side. #Rockets

Houston was coming off a very impressive six-game winning streak prior to their surprise loss to the lowly New York Knicks on Monday. This was followed by back-to-back losses to the Los Angeles Clippers and the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday and Saturday, respectively.
Things took a turn for the worse on Sunday when the Rockets were pummeled by the Magic in their home floor in what ended up as a 20-point blowout loss.
As coach D’Antoni noted above, Houston supporters are anything but happy right now — and understandably so. This cold streak has come at a terrible time for the Rockets, as the postseason edges closer. They have now fallen all the way to the sixth spot in a ruthless Western Conference, and are now just one game ahead of the seventh-seeded Dallas Mavericks. It’s not like the Rockets’ postseason hopes are in danger, but securing home court advantage in the first round is now going to be a challenge for the team.
Houston get an opportunity to bounce back on Tuesday when they take on a 19-44 Minnesota Timebrwolves side in what is likely going to be considered as a must-win game for the struggling Rockets.
