Rockets have no intentions of pursuing LeBron James

Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James will become a free agent this summer. His name has been constantly on the rumor mill, guessing where he’ll head to next. The Philadelphia 76ers and the Los Angeles Lakers are top destinations for the Cavs star. The Houston Rockets, meanwhile, do not want to be part of the James drama as they have no intentions of pursuing him over the summer.

Though just a rumor, it’s still easy to believe that the Rockets don’t want James in their team. Their two stars in James Harden and Chris Paul seem enough. They also boast of a strong core line up consisting of P.J. Tucker, Eric Gordon, and Trevor Ariza, just to name a few.

Also, the Rockets’ cap space wouldn’t be able to afford James’ max salary of $35 million. If they try to get James, they would have to move some of their critical pieces out, and maybe even cut the salary of James — which is definitely out of the question.

At this point, it’s still a game of wait-and-see. The Rockets seem to have a good chance of beating the Golden State Warriors after a superb Game 2 showing.

James and the Cavs, on the other hand, are wishing on a star, hoping to find the right game plan that would work against a well-coached Boston Celtics team.
