Rockets guard Austin Rivers says Daryl Morey and Mike D’Antoni have created a great environment in Houston

Houston Rockets guard Austin Rivers is clearly happy with what he sees from the current leadership within the franchise, including head coach Mike D’Antoni and general manager Daryl Morey.
Rivers agreed to a deal with the team back in December, and since then, he’s become a major part of the rotation.
He’s currently averaging 8.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.3 assists on the season, and while James Harden’s excellence has been the main driving force in the team’s success, Rivers has also played a role with key contributions.
That has him excited about the landscape of the franchise due to D’Antoni and Morey’s ability to put together a great style and roster.
Here’s what he had to say about playing for the Rockets, courtesy of Salman Ali of Red Nation Hoops.
Austin Rivers: “As much as you hear about how much freedom Mike (D’Antoni) gives…you don’t really understand it to you’re here playing for them just how much fun this team has on the floor…. It’s a great environment that Daryl (Morey) and coach (D’Antoni) have created.” pic.twitter.com/9a23nQAMtZ

The Rockets have made significant strides since starting the season 11-14 overall, as Houston is now 24-17 and is among the hottest teams in the entire NBA.
Again, Harden’s ridiculous scoring efforts have been a huge reason for that, but it’s been a team effort that’s helped the Rockets become one of the most feared teams in the league right now.
Next up is a road matchup against the Orlando Magic on Sunday before returning to Toyota Center for a Western Conference showdown with the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday.
