Rockets GM Daryl Morey’s tweet minutes after Carmelo Anthony commits to team

Carmelo Anthony has moved a step closer to officially joining the Houston Rockets, as he just verbally committed to the team a week after clearing the waivers. It’s not exactly big news since it has been long assumed and widely reported that the two sides have been warm to each other, but it definitely shoots down the notion that Anthony may not be coming to Houston after all.

Upon this latest development in Anthony’s offseason, Rockets general manager Daryl Morey sent out a tweet that may or may not be pertaining to the 10-time All-Star’s commitment to take his talents to Houston.

Here’s Morey waxing poetic on social media.

Seen from the perspective of Anthony’s eventual partnership with the Rockets, Morey’s tweet could merely be interpreted as his way of expressing assurance that the talks between his team and the former Syracuse Orange star are trending towards the right direction.

As mentioned earlier, it has been over a week since Anthony cleared waivers after agreeing to a buyout with the Atlanta Hawks. That Anthony has not yet inked a deal up to this day with the Rockets has left a few people wondering whether it’s truly going to happen.

However, Anthony is in Africa for charitable reasons as of the moment, meaning he’s merely waiting for his return to the United States before finally signing a veteran’s minimum deal with Houston which is worth $2.4 million.
