Rockets GM Daryl Morey posts photo with Corey Brewer on Instagram
Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey stopped for a quick picture with Corey Brewer on Thursday, raising speculation as to what their meeting may have entailed.
At this point, it’s not clear why Brewer and Morey were posing for a quick selfie. Might the Rockets be interested in offering Brewer some sort of a deal? After all, he has played for the team once before (2014-17):
Brewer could be a nice addition to the Houston’s rotation — if the team is indeed interested in his services. However, he might find it difficult to get much playing time, as the Rockets already have several talented players who can play the 2 or 3 positions. Still, as a 12-year veteran NBA player, he could serve a reserve role.
Brewer made 24 appearances with the Sacramento Kings last season (zero starts), racking up averages of 4.1 points on 44.6 percent shooting from the field (33.3 percent from beyond the arc), 2.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists and just under one steal (0.8) in 14.7 minutes per outing. He also appeared in seven games with the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Rockets finished the 2018-19 regular season with an impressive 53-29 overall record, which earned the team a No. 4 seed in the Western Conference. Unfortunately, though, Houston was defeated by the Golden State Warriors in the second round, 4-2.
