Rockets GM Daryl Morey posts not-so-cryptic tweet after win over Warriors

Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey posted a not-so-cryptic tweet in reaction to a blatant non-call during his team’s showdown with the Golden State Warriors.

Morey posted a photo of a blindfolded Sandra Bullock from “Bird Box,” the popular Netflix movie. While he did not add any caption, it was posted following their win against the Warriors after referees missed an out-of-bounds call on Golden State star Kevin Durant:

Durant was clearly out of bounds when he saved the ball late in overtime. The non-call led to a go-ahead basket from Stephen Curry, giving the Warriors a 134-132 lead with 22.2 seconds left to play.

NBA legend Reggie Miller, who called the game for TNT, noted that Durant was absolutely out of bounds. Miller added that he could not believe the referees missed it because one official was almost in front of Durant:

Even Durant himself admitted he knew he was out of bounds when he made the save:

Good thing for the Rockets, James Harden buried a cold-blooded 3-pointer to give them a 135-134 lead. Durant had a chance to win it for Golden State, but he missed a 31-foot jumper as the final buzzer sounded.

Harden finished with 44 points, 15 assists, and 10 rebounds for the Rockets, who trailed by 17 at the half. It was another terrific performance for the reigning NBA Most Valuable Player, who has now scored at least 41 points in each of their last five games. The 29-year-old also had a 40-point triple double against the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday.

Clint Capela also had a solid night for the Rockets with 29 points and 21 rebounds. Austin Rivers had 18 points on top of four rebounds and four assists, while Gerard Green added 16 points and four rebounds off the bench.

The Rockets improved to 22-15 to remain fourth in the Western Conference standings.
