Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey has refuted a report which claimed the Rockets are going to part ways with veteran power forward Carmelo Anthony.
Daryl Morey met with local reporters Sunday after the report surfaced. The Rockets are off to a 4-7 start after having the best record in the NBA last season and reaching the Western Conference Finals.
Morey said reports Anthony has been informed he will be released are inaccurate.

Morey said he expects Carmelo Anthony to be back in the rotation when healthy. Said “we’re evaluating everything.” Said that applies to everyone.

Carmelo Anthony missed Saturday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs with an illness. Saturday was the first day reports started to come out that Houston might waive Melo, who is averaging 13.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game while shooting 40.5 percent from the field and 32.8 percent from beyond the arc.
Anthony signed a one-year, $2.4 million deal with the Rockets. His close pal, Rockets All-Star point guard Chris Paul, advocated Daryl Morey to sign Anthony after Melo was waived by the Atlanta Hawks. Anthony had the worst statistical season of his career with the Oklahoma City Thunder last year, prompting the Thunder to trade him to the Hawks.
In the 10 games Carmelo Anthony has played in, Houston has a net rating of minus-9.0 with Anthony on the court and plus-1.8 with him on the bench. It appears this situation is very fluid, but Carmelo Anthony’s days in Houston could be coming to an end.
