Rockets’ Eric Gordon probable, Kenneth Faried out vs. Bucks

Eric-Gordon-probable,-Kenneth-Faried-out-vs.-Bucks

The Houston Rockets got both good and bad news heading into their game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday. According to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle, Eric Gordon is listed as probable, but Kenneth Faried is out.

Gordon being probable is a positive for Houston. His 16.5 points per game are tied for second on the team with Clint Capela, behind only James Harden.

Gordon is a stellar 3-point shooter who has fantastic driving ability as well. Most importantly, he can pick up the scoring slack when Harden needs a rest.

Faried, meanwhile, has been a superb midseason addition. He has appeared in 21 games for the Rockets, averaging 13.6 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.

What makes Faried so important to Houston is his rebounding ability. Other than Capela (12.6 rebounds per game), the Rockets didn’t have anyone who could really clean up the glass. In fact, Faried is comfortably in second when it comes to rebounds per game on the team.

Not having Faried against the Bucks could pose a problem, but Gordon’s return will give them the extra scoring boost needed. That’s even more true with Gerald Green out for at least a week.

The Rockets are firmly entrenched in a tight playoff race. They sit in third place in the Western Conference, but their playoff seed is still up in the air.
