Morey and the Rockets dealt center Clint Capela to the Atlanta Hawks at the 2020 NBA trade deadline. The team now has only one true big man on the roster in Tyson Chandler, as Houston is taking its micro-ball to another level.
During the seeding games and playoffs, the Rockets will likely start Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Robert Covington, Danuel House (or Eric Gordon) and PJ Tucker. Houston is going to ask Tucker to guard opposing centers in the paint.
For the seeding games, the Rockets will face the Dallas Mavericks, Milwaukee Bucks, Portland Trail Blazers, Los Angeles Lakers, Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs, Indiana Pacers and Philadelphia 76ers. Houston has already clinched a spot in the 2020 postseason. They are currently in sixth place in the Western Conference standings with a record of 40-24.
Once the playoffs begin, Westbrook and Harden will need to play like the MVPs they are for the Rockets to ultimately win a championship. The Houston franchise hasn’t advanced past the Western Conference Finals during the Harden era, but with Westbrook in the fold, the Rockets have a good shot of snapping their Finals drought at Walt Disney World.
