Houston Rockets swingman Danuel House Jr. made one of his first public statements since he was banished from the NBA bubble for hosting a guest in his hotel room.
House began his media session by apologizing for his actions:

The 27-year-old had been a steady rotation player for the Rockets throughout the 2019-20 season.
In fact, House started in 53 of 62 regular-season games and played over 30 minutes a night, averaging 10.5 points and 4.2 rebounds while shooting 36.3 percent from beyond the arc on 5.6 attempts per game. He also gave the Rockets another valuable defensive wing presence.
The former Texas A&M product was one of the Rockets’ best players early in the team’s first-round series against the Oklahoma City Thunder, but it would not be long before House was forced to pack his bags.
House played in the first two games of Houston’s second-round series against the Los Angeles Lakers before reports surfaced indicating the league was investigating him for violating health and safety protocols.
While House denied any wrongdoing, the NBA sent him home after finding he spent time with a female COVID-19 tester on campus. It was a poor lapse in judgment, especially considering House has a wife and child.
House did the right thing in apologizing up front, and he will look to move past the misstep in helping the Rockets on the floor this year.
Houston has had a turbulent offseason full of front-office overhaul and high-profile trade rumors, notably those regarding James Harden and Russell Westbrook.
It remains to be seen what the direction of the franchise is, exactly, but the Rockets will look for Danuel House to retain his 3-and-D role.
