Houston Rockets point guard Chris Paul will play against the Denver Nuggets on Friday, but the All-Star point guard may sit on Saturday versus the Utah Jazz.
Chris Paul is making his way back from a groin injury which sidelined him for 17 games. The nine-time All-Star is also dealing with back stiffness.

In 28 games this season for the Rockets, Chris Paul is averaging 15.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 8.0 assists per game. The 33-year-old is shooting 41.8 percent from the field, 35.0 percent from beyond the arc, and 81.0 percent from the free-throw line.
Houston is 1-1 since Paul returned to the lineup. They beat the Orlando Magic but lost to the New Orleans Pelicans. CP3 finished with 12 points, five rebounds and six assists against the Magic, and 10 points, four rebounds and nine assists versus the Pelicans.
The Rockets probably would have gone to the NBA Finals last season had Chris Paul not hurt his hamstring in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals against the Golden State Warriors. Houston needs to monitor Paul’s minutes until the postseason starts because they are going to need him to play at a high level.
Paul has never been a durable player throughout his playing career. The Rockets would be wise to always play it safe with him, so sitting Paul on back-to-backs would be the right move to make.
