Rockets’ Chris Paul isn’t worried about facing Lakers guard Rajon Rondo for first time since their fight

For the first time since their fight at Staples Center on the second game of the season, Houston Rockets point guard Chris Paul will face Los Angeles Lakers guard Rajon Rondo on Thursday night.

Rajon Rondo allegedly spit in Chris Paul’s face, and then an all-out brawl ensued with both point guards landing punches.

Paul was suspended for two games and had to forfeit $491,781. Rondo, meanwhile, was suspended three games and had to forfeit $186,207.

Speaking to local reporters on Tuesday, Paul said he doesn’t care about playing Rondo again and says he forgot about the whole incident.

Paul and Rondo have never liked each other. The fight at Staples Center, however, was only the first time they had ever fought on an NBA court. It made for good TV.

CP3 is averaging 15.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 8.0 assists per game this season. The nine-time All-Star is shooting 41.9 percent from the field, 35.1 percent from beyond the arc and 83.1 percent from the free-throw line.

Paul, who missed a handful of games with a hamstring injury, says he’s feeling better.

Rondo is putting up 8.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 7.6 assists in his first season with the Lakers. The 32-year-old is shooting 44.3 percent from the floor, 42.3 percent from the 3-point line and 55.0 percent from the foul line.

Lonzo Ball is still out with a ankle injury, so Rondo will remain the starter at point guard, which means Paul and Rajon will be matched up against each other all night on Thursday.
