Rockets CEO Tad Brown says James Harden ‘is the best player in the world,’ deserves MVP
Houston Rockets CEO Tad Brown heaped praise on team superstar James Harden.
Brown believes that Harden is often being overlooked, but he is quite sure that the Rockets’ superstar guard is currently the best player in the world. While he admitted that he is a bit biased because he is the CEO of Harden’s team, he insisted that the reigning Most Valuable Player deserves to win the MVP Award again this year.
“I’m completely biased, but I think James is the best player in the world,” Brown said of Harden via Mark Berman of Fox 26 Houston. “The run he went on saved our season. Whether he wins the MVP or not, he deserves it.”
The 29-year-old superstar is a finalist again for the coveted MVP award along with Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo and Oklahoma City Thunder forward Paul George. Harden, the former Arizona State standout, averaged a career-high and league-best 36.1 points per game during the regular season.
In 11 games in the playoffs, Harden posted 31.6 points on top of 6.8 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game. Brown said that he believes Harden’s performance this season is being overlooked because fans and analysts are used to seeing him play this great. He added that what Harden is dong is “one of the greatest stretches” in league history.
