Rockets center Clint Capela sporting colorful new hairstyle this season

Clint Capela, Rockets

Clint Capela was able to get a major pay raise this offseason from the Houston Rockets, signing a five-year, $90 million contract. It was a move that the franchise needed to make with Capela becoming one of the NBA’s best up-and-coming big men. Not only is he good on the court, he is also sporting a new look as well.

As noted by ESPN’s Tim MacMahon, Capela is rocking a brand new haircut that brings a lot more color to the court.

Capela’s new style is being compared to Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Dennis Schroder’s hair. Clutch Points has previously taken a look at the new style that Schroder is rocking.

Houston is hoping that Capela can take another big step forward this season. He put together a huge 2017-18 season and the Rockets were nearly able to knock off the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals.

During the 2017-18 season with the Rockets, Capela ended up averaging 13.9 points per game to go along with 10.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks. He shot 65.2 percent from the court as well. Those numbers show why Capela was such a big name in free agency and why the Rockets knew they needed to pay him.

It will be interesting to see what the 2018-19 season has in store for Capela and the Rockets. Houston also went out and acquired Carmelo Anthony, adding more talent to the roster with the hope of competing with the Warriors.

Expect to see Capela come out strong this season, proving the Rockets right for giving him the new contract.
