Rockets’ Ben McLemore posterizes Jaxson Hayes

Rockets, Ben McLemore,

Houston Rockets guard Ben McLemore took flight on Sunday afternoon against the New Orleans.

McLemore took the ball strong to the rim late in the first quarter. Needless to say, he served up a massive facial on Pelicans rookie big man Jaxson Hayes:

Hayes was clearly late in his rotation as the help defender. But McLemore was not to be denied as he took it to the tin with conviction.

McLemore has experienced somewhat of a career revival with the Rockets. The former No. 7 overall pick played just 19 games with the Sacramento Kings last season, and his stock had fallen considerably due to injuries and character questions.

However, the 26-year-old has capitalized on his opportunity to play heavy minutes for Houston. McLemore entered Sunday’s game averaging 10.1 points while shooting better than 38 percent from beyond the arc on 6.6 attempts per game.

McLemore has also started in 17 of his 48 appearances while establishing himself as a vital backcourt player in the wake of Gerald Green’s absence.
